Education
As a group, classroom teachers are some of the most overworked and underpaid people in America! And unfortunately their hands are often tied when it comes to ways to improve education in America. The two quickest ways to fix the educational mess in America are: First we need to return control of education to the parents and local officials. The death grip of federal (and to a lesser extent state) politicians and so-called educational unions needs to be broken. Second, we need to seriously look at the idea of vouchers. Let’s look at two issues -- money and preschool/college education. If private schools can educate students for $4,000-$5,000 and public educations costs $10,000+ can someone explain to me why we don’t privatize education, split the difference, and pocket the profit? How about the “vouchers” for preschool children and college students? I do not believe that government money going to preschoolers has damaged their learning and grants for students who attend private colleges has not had any negative impact on their college education.
